Some More About Us

Society membership is open to anyone with a love of art, from virtual beginners to experienced semi-professional artists.   

Our members can attend monthly demonstrations at the Old Magistrates Court Room on the fourth Tuesday of the month during the Spring and Autumn terms.  The demonstrations, which begin at 10am are given by professional artists, working in a variety of media and are often followed by a workshop in the afternoon.

There is a lively Tuesday morning painting group during the Spring and Autumn terms and in the Summer we offer a programme of plein air sessions in attractive and interesting  locations.  

As we are nearing the end of the year, membership for the months of September, October and November is available at a reduced rate of £12.50. The Tuesday painting group costs £23 per term and includes coffee. and runs from September 9th until December.
